Day Seis

Today our mentor was exhausted. He told us he was handing out flyers at 3 in the morning. Thats a big part of the mission in NYPIRG. We got assigned the same train routes to survey. It was a pretty smooth day again. No problems except the J train went express from Myrtle-Wycoff to Broadway Junction

El Dia Cinco

Today we learned more about our lobby trip to Albany. We are planning to lobby for the congestion pircing. We will be learning about how to lobby and what we are lobbying about. The planned day is March 18. We should get home around 7. Also, we learned that Shane will be going to our internship on March 11. Today I took the J train.

4th Day

On this day we all got different routes to take the train. I was transfered to the J train. So from Chambers I had to go to 104 Street. After three stops, get out wait for next train. The trains are usually filled with people goin to work and high school kids leaving early from school. The runs went good.

3rd Day

On the third day, Cate gave us a lil history lesson on the MTA. We learned how it all began. Also, we got to learn bout the different parts of the MTA, how it works, how far, how many riders, and how decicsions are made by the execs. After the lesson, we were assigned routes again. This time i was assigned the J train because Jose just joined and his train home is the M. I did the surveys to 104 street around 3 30. This is a pretty cool internship.

Day 2

The second day was we were let losse. We all got different train lines to survey. I had to do the M train. On each stop, i gotta assess if the stop annoucements are audible. Also, I gotta write if there are aby dekays or chances of services during the ride. We must write down the train car number and train line. After three stops, we get out and wait for next train. I did this on the M train until 4.

First Day

On the first day, he got a walkthru of things we should expect to do in this internship. We first will be taking surveys on train annoucements. I gotta determine if the stops are hearable. My mentor Cate Cantino, gave me n Jeffrey Castillo a tour of the office area. We have our own lil office. Lastly we received sum training of how to take surveys with Dan, our other mentor.

Interviews

It went great. I was pretty nervous. During the ride, we got lost which added fuel to the fire. My mind was thinking more about the close by GIANTS PARADE(won the Super Bowl-A Giant by the way). All the interviews went well. I ended up getting SNAME but, had to sadly refuse. The travel time was too long. It was all the way in NJ. I was switched to National Straphangers.
